As a Yard Operative, you’ll be the backbone of the team, keeping the warehouse organised, handling materials safely, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
What Is Required:
- Forklift Licence: A valid counterbalance forklift licence is required for moving building materials and ensuring everything is in its proper place.
- Team Player: Ability to work well with colleagues, take ownership of tasks, and thrive in independent work situations.
- Dynamic: Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to handle a busy yard.
- Good Communication: Ability to interact with customers and colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- Safety First: A strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Experience: Previous experience in an outdoor environment or similar role is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload delivery vehicles using the forklift, ensuring efficient storage of materials.
- Keep the yard tidy, organised, and ensure materials are easily accessible.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with loading/unloading and offering product advice.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Regularly check forklifts and yard equipment, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth yard operations and on-time deliveries.
- Perform other manual handling tasks and yard maintenance as needed.
