Manufacturing Workshop Labourer Salary: £14 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm Friday: 7:30am – 2:00pm About the Role: We are looking for a practical, reliable Manufacturing Workshop Labourer to support day-to-day operations within this Ipswich-based manufacturing workshop. This is a varied, hands-on role involving material handling, basic workshop operations, assembly support, packing, housekeeping and general assistance to machine operatives. As a Workshop Labourer you will help to keep work moving safely and efficiently while ensuring finished products are handled accurately and to a high standard. The role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, is willing to learn and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a busy workshop environment. Key Responsibilities: * Move, prepare and organise materials, components and finished goods around the workshop * Support cutting, drilling, trimming, de-swarfing, finishing and assembly operations * Assist machine and extrusion operatives with production tasks, changeovers and machine clean downs * Inspect work for obvious defects and follow company quality procedures to ensure products meet specification * Separate and process scrap or out-of-spec materials for recycling and reprocessing * Maintain clean, tidy and safe work areas, including general factory housekeeping * Build bespoke pallets for customer orders * Monitor consumables and stock levels, minimise waste and report shortages or issues promptly * Follow all health and safety instructions, use PPE correctly and report hazards * Provide flexible support across assembly, production and despatch during busy periods when required
