The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Cotton Traders team as a Trainee Assistant Merchandiser, based at our Head Offices in Altrincham, with potential for hybrid working. This is a hugely rewarding opportunity for someone looking to start their career in Merchandising.

As a Trainee Assistant Merchandiser here are some of the key tasks that you will be involved in:

  • Raising orders and managing them into the business by liaising with our suppliers.
  • To assist with data entry and take responsibility for data input and producing reports to enable the analysis of sales and stock data.
  • Investigating data inaccuracies and problem solving where issues arise.
  • Providing support to the Merchandiser where required.
  • Working closely with the Buying, Technology, Marketing and Creative teams.

You will have good computer skills, confidence in Excel is essential as well as excellent communication skills in written and verbal form. Accuracy is key, you will need to pay close attention to detail and be very analytical. You will be strong at prioritising workload with a flexible attitude to changing priorities, be able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities successfully. We are looking for someone who is reliable with lots of initiative, able to work well within a team as well as individually. The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, self-confidence and self-motivation, as well as commitment and a willingness to learn, remaining professional at all times.
