We are looking for a hands‑on DC Ecommerce Manager to lead our online operations within a high‑volume distribution centre environment. This role sits at the heart of our end‑to‑end online order journey, ensuring that every customer order is picked, packed, and dispatched accurately, efficiently, and on time. This is not a traditional office‑based role; it is an operational management position within a fast‑paced distribution centre, focused on delivering exceptional service to omni‑channel customers nationwide.
We are seeking someone with a background in warehouse operations, logistics, retail operations, or eCommerce distribution, ideally at team‑leader, supervisor, or junior management level, who is ready to step up. This is a development opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the floor, is passionate about operational excellence, and can drive results through people and process execution.
Location & Availability
This role is based at our Distribution Centre in Bulwell, Nottingham. The position requires availability from Monday to Sunday, with a standard workweek of 40 hours. The workday starts at 6:45 AM.
About the role
As the DC eCommerce Manager, you will oversee the daily performance of online order fulfillment operations within the distribution centre, ensuring a seamless flow from picking through to dispatch. You will lead a team in a high‑volume environment where accuracy, speed, safety, and efficiency are critical to success. You will be accountable for delivering strong operational performance, improving productivity, and supporting continuous improvement across eCommerce logistics.
Key responsibilities
- Ecommerce distribution centre operations
- Lead end‑to‑end online order fulfillment operations (pick, pack, and dispatch)
- Ensure all eCommerce orders are processed accurately and shipped on time
- Maintain high operational standards in a fast‑moving distribution environment
- Oversee daily workflows to ensure smooth and efficient order processing
- Safety & compliance
- Champion a strong health and safety culture across all eCommerce operations
- Identify, report, and act on hazards, near misses, and incidents
- Ensure equipment is used safely and that maintenance issues are escalated promptly
- Maintain compliance with all warehouse and distribution centre safety standards
- Productivity & performance management
- Drive key operational metrics, including orders per hour, cost per order, overall work rate, and fulfilment accuracy and efficiency
- Support workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Monitor performance trends and take action to improve outcomes
- Team leadership & development
- Lead, coach and develop team members to achieve operational targets
- Foster a high‑performance, engaged, and accountable team culture
- Support training, onboarding, and continuous development initiatives
- Continuous improvement & innovation
- Identify inefficiencies in fulfilment processes and implement improvements
