We’re looking for a Junior Freight Manager to join our fast-paced retail environment. If you have experience in inbound and outbound freight operations, and excel at planning, coordinating, and keeping operations running smoothly, this is your opportunity to take on exciting challenges and help drive our success. Location & Availability: This role is based at our Distribution Centre in Bulwell, Nottingham. The position requires availability from Monday to Sunday, with a standard workweek of 40 hours. The workday starts at 6:45 AM.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You’re the supporter, the operator, and the team player. To enable the vison, you deliver a high quality and cost-efficient freight solutions for all Cotton On logistics services for our distribution centre. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a customer-centric mindset. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless operations and exceptional service delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- I partner with key stakeholders (internal and external) to improve operational efficiency and reduce transport cost.
- I ensure timelines and SLAs are adhered to by all transport parties so that goods are received in a timely manner – B2B & B2C.
- I build strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure all transport operations meet the requirements of the business and customer.
- I implement specific customer requirements such as internal reporting and customised transport metrics.
- I’m responsible for managing all elements of transport operations relating to wharf cartage to ensure timely and efficient results are delivered.
- I facilitate the creation of accurate deliver schedules to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated and communicated to key stakeholders.
- I manage and monitor the performance of the network of logistics service providers through KPI’s and performance evaluation.
- I manage tender processes with all relevant parties to ensure Cotton On is utilising best in market services to deliver our products.
- I lead Cotton On “Our Way” and build a team of engaged Brand and product ambassadors.
- I look after others and myself, and lead in alignment with our Safety Matters Framework.
