Established in 1938, Cotteswold Dairy is one of the UK's leading independent family-owned dairies. From our modern Tewkesbury production site we deliver fresh, high-quality dairy products to customers across the region, working closely with local farmers and communities. We are looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team on a part-time basis. This role will take responsibility for the accounting of Workman Properties Ltd while also supporting key finance activities across Cotteswold Dairy Ltd.
Working closely with the Financial Accountant and the wider Finance Team, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business while ensuring accurate financial records, reconciliations, and reporting. This is a varied role that combines property accounting responsibilities with wider finance support tasks. Our purpose is to be at the heart of a responsible and sustainable dairy community.
Responsibilities- Maintain financial records for Workman Properties Ltd including bank postings and reconciliations
- Raise tenant rent invoices and manage associated credit control activities
- Prepare month-end accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Balance intercompany accounts between Workman Properties Ltd and Cotteswold Dairy Ltd
- Assist with annual audit requirements
- Transfer farmer milk intake data into relevant systems and spreadsheets
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations using automated processes
- Upload BACS payment files to the bank
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of numerical accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Good team player who is willing to support colleagues
- AAT Level 3 or Level 4 preferred
- Strong IT skills including Excel and Word
- Experience using Sage accounting systems (Sage 200 desirable)
