Cotswolds Distillery has built the defining English whisky brand through beautiful, confident storytelling that is rooted in relaxed indulgence. We’re looking for someone to make brave and elevated content that reflects our premium positioning and personality. The E-commerce & Content Manager will sit right at the intersection of digital commerce and brand storytelling, owning the channels that connect us most directly with our customers and making sure every touchpoint reflects the quality and character of what we make. We are the proud owners of the world’s best-selling English single malt whisky and our goal is to continue to scale this further to be the first in our category to sell 1 million bottles.
You’ll report into the Marketing Manager and collaborate day-to-day with the Commercial and Retail teams. You’ll also manage critical relationships with our external agencies to analyse the performance of our digital channels and content. We’re a small and scrappy team, but that means real ownership and real impact.
Our Brand Home and Distillery are based in one of the most beautiful parts of England — the Cotswolds — and there’s no shortage of content inspiration on our doorstep. This is a full-time role with a hybrid working arrangement, blending a minimum of three days at the distillery with the flexibility to work remotely during the remaining time.
The ideal candidate combines a creative eye with a commercial mind. Most importantly, you’ll have the instinct on how to bring our “Relaxed Indulgence” messaging to life through compelling and engaging content. You’ll know how to build, run and assess an online store that converts, and you’ll have the storytelling instincts to produce content that makes people fall in love with the brand. You’re data-savvy enough to know what’s working, organised enough to keep multiple projects moving at once, and passionate enough about premium food, drink and lifestyle brands to bring genuine enthusiasm to the work. Success means growth in revenue, stronger online conversion, consistent brand storytelling, and being the engine behind every product launch and campaign in the digital space.
Main Responsibilities:
- Content Creation & Management
- Deliver brave and creative content that brings our positioning to life and grabs the attention of our target consumer.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar across website, social and email channels, keeping the brand visible, consistent and engaging.
- Create and coordinate photography, video and written content that captures the brand’s story, products and distillery experience.
- Support marketing campaigns with the digital assets and storytelling they need to land well across every channel.
- E-commerce Management
- Manage and optimise the online store and website, ensuring a seamless, premium customer experience from first click to checkout.
- Oversee performance and relationships with external agencies managing ad spend, holding them accountable for ROI and campaign optimisation.
- Maintain and update product pages, pricing, promotions and merchandising to reflect the latest brand and commercial priorities.
- Monitor and drive improvement in conversion rates, average order value and overall online revenue.
- Lead online launches for new products, limited releases and seasonal campaigns, coordinating closely with the wider marketing team.
- Use analytics tools to track website performance and customer behaviour, turning data into action.
- Digital Marketing Support
- Execute email marketing campaigns, newsletters and customer communications that are on-brand and drive results.
- Develop social media content and digital campaigns that build the brand and grow the audience.
- Identify and act on opportunities to drive qualified traffic to the website and convert visitors into customers.
- Support online promotions, partnerships and collaborations that align with the brand’s positioning.
- Data & Performance Tracking
- Own the reporting on key performance indicators — including website traffic, conversion rate, online revenue, average order value and customer acquisition — and share regular insights with the team.
- Use performance data to inform decisions, test new approaches and continuously improve results.
Here’s what we’re looking for, professionally speaking: You don’t need to have worked in spirits, but a genuine passion in premium food, drink or lifestyle brands will go a long way. Here’s what matters most:
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, content strategy and the mechanics of online conversion.
- A creative eye with hands-on experience creating or coordinating photography and video content.
- Proven experience managing e-commerce platforms such as Shopify.
- Data-driven approach with confidence using analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
We are looking for the perfect combination of all of the above mixed with the positive attitude of someone who is a true team player and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to get things done together!
