Depot Manager

Home Delivery Depot Manager

At The Cotswold Company, we design beautiful, built-to-last furniture - and our 15-year guarantee means we stand behind every piece. Our Home Delivery team is the final, and arguably most important, step of that promise: the people who bring our furniture into customers' homes with the same care it was made with.

We're looking for a Home Delivery Depot Manager to help run our Swindon depot, the hub of our southern deliveries. It's a hands-on role in a growing operation, with real room to grow alongside it.

About the role

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you’ll support the safe, smooth and efficient running of the depot, day to day. You’ll lead and develop the team, keep our processes tight and accurate, and help reduce errors and avoidable cost. As a keyholder, you’ll open up or close down as needed.

This is a role that will grow and change as our southern delivery network grows - so we’re after someone adaptable, who enjoys helping to build something.

Everything we do runs on four values - Lead with Care, Inspire Possibility, Focus on Impact and Endure with Purpose - and you’ll bring them to life in the way you lead every day.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading, coaching and motivating the depot team - Team Leaders, Warehouse Operatives and Drivers - and supervising everyone on shift in line with company standards and HR policies
  • Running our core home delivery processes: goods-in, goods-out, replenishment, cycle counts and stock takes - accurately, and on time
  • Keeping health & safety and MHE checks up to date, and raising any concerns straight away
  • Overseeing safe loading and unloading, helping with gatehouse checks, and supporting vehicle maintenance reporting and booking
  • Managing and reporting on non-inventory assets - pump trucks, vehicle kit, maintenance items - to keep disruption and cost down
  • Managing communications with service providers and stakeholders, so targets are met and queries answered accurately and promptly
  • Supporting the wider team across both shifts and other depots when needed, including training
  • Championing equal opportunities, diversity and great customer care in everything you do

What you’ll bring

  • Strong leadership skills - you lead by example and bring people with you
  • Counterbalance FLT licence
  • Good health & safety awareness
  • Full driving licence with fewer than 3 points
  • A hands-on approach - happy to load and unload as well as manage the team
  • Good attention to detail, a genuine 'can do' attitude, and the flexibility to travel to other depots when needed
  • Proven supervisory experience
  • At least 2 years’ warehouse experience
  • Previous final-mile or home delivery experience

Why Cotswold

We're a B-Corp certified business that cares as much about how we work as what we make. You'll join a friendly, down-to-earth team, in a depot that's growing - with the chance to develop as it does.
