HGV Driver
From a single antique pine wardrobe to a home in every corner of the country, The Cotswold Company has spent over two decades bringing well-made furniture into people's lives. Every piece we sell carries our signature 15-year guarantee — and it's our home delivery drivers who carry that promise the last mile, onto the drive and through the front door.
We're looking for a Class 1 HGV Driver to join our in-house delivery division. You'll be a brand ambassador on the road, trusted to move our furniture, palletised goods and cage deliveries between depots and to our customers, in the best possible condition, every time.
What you'll be doing
- Trunk stock safely and efficiently between our home delivery depots, keeping to your shift plan and completing all required shunts on time.
- Carry out accurate daily vehicle defect checks before every shift, and report anything you find to your line manager promptly.
- Complete your weekly tachograph and vehicle downloads, and work within Working Time Directive and driving-time guidelines at all times.
- Drive safely, responsibly and within the law — always.
- Represent Cotswold Co. and your team well, championing equal opportunities, diversity and great customer care in everything you do.
- Take an active part in your performance and development reviews, and keep your health & safety knowledge current.
What we're looking for
- A valid Class 1 / C+E / HGV1 licence and current driver CPC.
- At least a year's experience driving Class 1, with digital tachograph experience.
- Good knowledge of driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- A good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- No more than 3 points on your licence.
- Smart, presentable, and a strong team player who's equally happy working on your own initiative.
- Real attention to detail and pride in getting every delivery right first time.
Nice to have
- Good reading and writing ability.
- Well organised, with a sharp eye for detail.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
