  • Senior Sales Advisor
  • The Cotswold Company — Chelmsford showroom

There's a particular pleasure in helping someone find the piece they'll keep for years. A dining table for the family. The armchair by the window. That's the work here.

We're looking for a Senior Sales Advisor to join our Chelmsford showroom — someone who leads from the floor, sells naturally, and helps a good team become a great one.

The role

You’ll be one of the senior faces of the showroom.

That means giving every customer a warm, knowledgeable welcome, and helping the wider team do the same.

As a keyholder, you’ll open up, keep the space safe and beautifully presented through the day, and lock up at close.

When the management team is away, you’ll steer the ship — reading the numbers honestly and keeping trade moving.

  • A typical week
  • Leading by example on the floor: strong product knowledge, natural selling, genuine service.
  • Hitting and pushing past sales targets, and helping the team hit theirs.
  • Keeping the showroom merchandised to plan and looking its best.
  • Setting up displays and promotions, and looking after the stockroom so the right stock is always to hand.
  • Handling refunds, returns and end-of-day cash and card — accurately, every time.
  • Offering guidance and encouragement to the team, and keeping your own skills growing too.
  • You’ll be right for this if you’re
  • Approachable, calm under pressure, and kind in how you work with others.
  • A natural leader who lifts the people around you.
  • Self-motivated, positive, and happy to flex as the day demands.
  • Experienced in a sales advisor role, confident with product knowledge, customer service and the basics of till and systems.

Supervisory experience is a lovely bonus, but not a must — if you’ve led by example, we’d like to hear from you.

Why The Cotswold Company

We design furniture and homeware made to last — every piece backed by our 15-year guarantee.

We’re proudly B-Corp certified, which means we hold ourselves to a higher standard for our people, our customers and the planet.

We’re growing, and there’s real room to grow with us.
