Job description
Minibus Driver
Cothill is an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 7-13. We are currently seeking a Minibus Driver to join the team, starting as soon as possible.
Purpose of the role:
This role is to take a minibus to collect day children from the surrounding areas and bring them to school in the mornings. In addition the successful applicant will need to carry out checks on the minibuses and to keep adequate levels of Fuel, AdBlue, Oil and Screenwash. Also to carry out cleaning and upkeep of the buses in general. They will be directly line managed by the Head of Maintenance, and will also take direction from the Head, and Head of Operations.
Requirements of the role:
The below sets out a non-exhaustive description of the role:
- Collection of day children from the surrounding areas.
- To communicate with children and parents.
- To complete visual checks on the minibuses and flag any concerns to Head of Maintenance.
- To check and top up as necessary Fuel, AdBlue, Oil, Screenwash on the minibuses.
- To carry out general cleaning and upkeep of the minibuses.
- Comply with HSE and school safety guidelines and policies.
- To support the school in carrying out its safeguarding obligations.
- To carry out any additional tasks as reasonably required by the school.

- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with various colleagues from different departments (E)
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with children and parents. (E)
- Ability to plan and be flexible (E)
- Be proactive and have a strong work ethic (E)
- Must have a clean D1 Driving licence (E) (please note candidates may be asked to demonstrate driving of a minibus if invited for interview)

Working Hours
Part time role term time only, when the school is in session, working between 6:30am and 8.30am Monday-Friday, plus Saturdays when the school is in session. Weeks ending with the Exeat weekend or half term will have the hours adjusted so that they are made up across that week. Term dates can be found on our website: Flexibility in hours may be available for the right candidate, however it will be essential that they can carry out the morning pick up of day children.
