As Subject Leader of Health and Social Care, Child Development, you will play a central role in shaping the strategic direction of the department. You will:
Lead curriculum planning, assessment, and high-quality teaching across Key Stages.
Model excellent practice through your own teaching.
Support the Faculty Leader with the effective day to day operation of the Faculty.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and maintain specialist equipment.
Use data effectively to monitor progress and secure strong outcomes for all learners.
Promote equality, inclusion, and high expectations across the subject.
Support, hold accountable, lead, manage and develop Faculty staff.
This role combines leadership, innovation, and hands-on teaching-perfect for someone ready to make a measurable impact. The Social Sciences Faculty encompasses Business, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, EPQ, Health and Social Care and Child Development. The faculty also offers a Year 12 Foundation programme of Level 2 Business Administration and Level 2 Social Sciences. We\’re a team of nine teachers, led by a Faculty Leader, Deputy Faculty Leader and Assistant Faculty Leader. The Social Sciences faculty is based in the P16 Centre at Charnwood House and is a friendly, high-performing team. CNAT Child Development and Pearson AAQ Health and Social Care are prominent and popular subjects within the school, with a good track record for success. We are well-resourced and have three RealCare interactive babies, along with an exciting store cupboard full of play and care equipment.
