We\’re looking for an Estimator to join our Building team based in London.

Location:London

Hours:40 hours per week

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Estimator, you\’ll be working within the Building team, supporting them in delivering high-quality estimates for construction and refurbishment projects ranging from Β£1m to Β£20m.

Your day to day will include:

  • Appraising and evaluating client tender requirements and specifications
  • Producing tender stage bills of quantities and pricing labour, plant, and material rates
  • Managing tender information and subcontract trade package enquiries
  • Providing early-stage project cost plans and value engineering options
  • Communicating and handing over estimates to project teams

What are we looking for?

This role of Estimator is great for you if:

  • You have strong communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams and supply chains
  • You are proficient in computerised estimating and take-off software, with solid general IT skills
  • You hold industry-recognised construction-related qualifications and have previous experience in a similar role

A Full Driving Licence is required (does not need to be a UK licence).

Requirements

β€’ Appraisal and evaluation of client tender requirements and specifications in typically 2-stage bid preparation

β€’ Abstract and report on contractual tender stage information

β€’ Manage tender information efficiently

β€’ Undertaking tender site visits

β€’ Take off and produce tender stage bills of quantities

β€’ Pricing of tender labour, plant and material rates build ups

β€’ Analysing supply chain enquiries for tender

β€’ Producing tender risk information

β€’ Reporting for tender adjudication

β€’ Communication and handover of estimates

β€’ Early engagement with client teams to provide cost advice

β€’ Providing early-stage project cost plans

β€’ Delivering value engineering & buildability

β€’ Managing and reporting tender stage cost controls

β€’ Working within a client collaborative team environment

β€’ Be proactive in maintaining relationships with project team, stakeholders, and functional management and work as a collaborative member of the team, facilitating the sharing of knowledge and best practice to the wider business. Diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing

Essential skills and experience

β€’ Diverse and clear communication skills with experience of effective communication with multidisciplinary design teams, client teams, sub-contractors, and the wider supply chain

β€’ Excels in working as part of a team and under own supervision

β€’ Ability to self-motivate and work to deadlines

β€’ Works well under pressure

β€’ Competence in computerised estimating and take-off software and general IT skills

β€’ Industry recognised construction related qualifications.

β€’ Previous experience within a similar role

β€’ Drive and enthusiasm to succeed and improve
