The Director of Sales will be a pivotal leader within Cotality UK, responsible for driving significant commercial growth across our core Lending (Property Data, Surveying, and Financial Services) and Energy (Retrofit and Net Zero Solutions) segments. This role requires a hands-on, strategic leader capable of building and executing high-value sales strategies, achieving ambitious targets, and coordinating all sales and marketing efforts to ensure market-leading results.

What will you be doing?

  • Strategic Leadership & Commercial Growth (Go-Get & Targets)
  • Strategic Pipeline Growth: Develop and execute the strategic sales plan to identify, qualify, and close major pipeline opportunities across both the Lending and Energy/Retrofit segments. Focus on securing high-value, long-term contracts.
  • Target Ownership: Own the annual revenue and acquisition (“go-get”) targets for the segments, implementing rigorous forecasting and performance management to ensure targets are consistently exceeded.
  • Cross-Business Strategy: Work closely with Product, Technology, and Finance teams to align commercial efforts with overall business objectives and market demand.
  • P&L Influence: Provide critical commercial input to P&L management, pricing strategies, and budget allocation for growth initiatives.
  • Sales and Marketing Coordination & Leadership
    • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a small, high-performing team of sales and marketing professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and commercial excellence.
    • Integrated Activity: Coordinate all sales activities (direct sales, account management, partnership development) with marketing initiatives (lead generation, content, events) to create a seamless, efficient demand generation engine.
    • Sales Enablement: Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools, market intelligence, product knowledge, and sales collateral tailored to Cotality’s data-driven solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Market Presence
    • Key Account Management: Act as the sponsor and lead negotiator for strategic accounts and complex enterprise deals.
    • Market Insight: Maintain an expert understanding of the UK property, energy efficiency, and retrofit markets, including policy changes, competitive landscape, and client needs.
    • Brand Advocacy: Represent Cotality UK at industry events, conferences, and executive-level client meetings, reinforcing our “Intelligence beyond bounds” brand and value proposition.

    Job Qualifications

    What skills do you need?

    • Experience
    • Proven Senior Sales Leadership: Minimum of 8+ years in senior commercial roles, with at least 3 years managing and leading a sales and/or marketing team in the UK.
    • Sector Expertise: Demonstrable track record of success in selling complex B2B data, SaaS, or highly technical service solutions within the UK Property, Financial Services, or Energy/Decarbonisation sectors. Experience spanning both data/property and energy/retrofit is highly desirable.
    • Strategic Account Acquisition: Proven ability to build a strategic pipeline, negotiate, and close high-value, multi-year enterprise contracts (ÂŁ1M+ TCV).
    • Commercial Acumen: Extensive experience managing multi-million-pound revenue targets and strong understanding of sales forecasting, pipeline management, and key commercial metrics.
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related quantitative field.
  • Leadership & Management
    • Inspirational Leadership: Proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop a small, integrated sales and marketing team, setting a high bar for performance and integrity.
    • Cross-Functional Coordination: Exceptional ability to coordinate activities across sales, marketing, and product development functions to deliver a unified go-to-market strategy.
