We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team in a part-time capacity with the opportunity of extra working hours during the busy periods. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care while providing excellent customer service to pet owners. This position requires a love for animals, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
This work is flexible days within the week with early starts and one of those days being Saturday or Sunday, plus some Bank Holidays to include Easter, Christmas and New Year. Training will be provided. Position will start mid-April.
Pay: Min. Living wage depending on age (Part time)

Work Location: On site, In person
Duties:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks. Attention to detail a must.
- Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to Kennel Manager.
- Assist with the intake and discharge of animals, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and wellbeing.
- Support Kennel Manager with day-to-day tasks.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous qualification and experience in animal care or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks associated with animal handling.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Good understanding of animal behaviour.
