An opportunity has arisen to join our Operations team as a Manufacturing Technician on a permanent basis, to support our Electronics Team based in Cottenham, Cambridge.

The Role:

  • Assemble complex electronic products for leading Motorsport customers in line with engineering specifications.
  • Interpret detailed assembly instructions, drawings and build documentation accurately.
  • Build products in accordance with documented processes, achieving first-pass quality with no rework.
  • Work to IPC-A-610 electro-mechanical standards, maintaining compliance at all times.
  • Maintain high levels of quality, and traceability throughout the build process.
  • Ensure finished products meet defined visual and presentation standards prior to release.
  • Carry out encapsulation, labelling and final inspection to premium customer standards.
  • Perform precision assembly tasks requiring fine adjustment, care and attention to detail.
  • Undertake high-quality soldering.
  • Conduct low-level testing and controlled product power-up procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively within a small production team, maintaining clear communication.
  • Manage workload to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Respond positively to changing priorities and urgent production requirements.
  • Remain composed under pressure, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
  • Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile:

Essential

  • Proven experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed assembly instructions, drawings and technical documentation.
  • High level of manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable soldering capability.
  • Strong commitment to quality and first-pass build principles.
  • Ability to work methodically and patiently on complex assemblies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a small team environment.
  • Able to manage workload, handle pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Desirable

  • Experience of soldering to IPC-A-610 standards is desirable; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Formal IPC-A-610 certification.
  • Experience within Motorsport, automotive electronics or high-performance engineering environments.
  • Experience in product testing and controlled power-up procedures.
  • Familiarity with encapsulation processes and final product presentation standards.
