As a Metrologist / Zeiss CMM Programmer at Cosworth, you will be working within a precision engineering environment. Your responsibilities will include writing, developing and proving out measurement systems and programmes, problem solving and working closely with production to resolve any issues. Additionally, you will utilise hands on inspection techniques using various tools, including Mahr surface finish and form-tracing equipment to micrometers and attribute gauges. Your duties will also involve preparing FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports), ISIRs (Initial Sample Inspection Reports), and supporting documents.
The Role:
Zeiss CMM programming such as curve form surface.
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Fully conversant with reading engineering & manufacturing drawings.
Experienced in base metrology / measurement by first principles.
Sound knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) such as standards ISO,ASME Y 14.5, JES 161.
Sound knowledge in Measurements System Analysis (MSA)
Hands on first Principal experience using all types of Measuring & Testing equipment, both contact – non-contact, analogue & digital.
Able to support root cause analysis and implementation of problem-solving techniques.
Working knowledge on concessions, containment procedures and traceability techniques.
Awareness of aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, various ISO).
Good knowledge of Gauge R&R studies
Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.

Either a graduate in Metrology FD, Mechanical Engineering/Diploma, equivalent certification or proven industry track record.
Demonstrable experience in manufacturing engineering and experience in Calypso CMM programming.
Desirable
Good understanding of Aerospace Manufacturing Environment.
Hands on experience in Process planning for precision machined components.
Experience in tool design (jigs & fixtures)
Awareness in Nx Manufacturing.
Visual IPI software
Awareness of CNC / CAM programming.
GOM scanner experience
