The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Duties of the grinder will be to manufacture camshafts, crankshafts, tooling and a variety of other engine components for super/hyper car manufacturers. Set and operate CNC and manual grinding machines, select and mount appropriate cutting tools required for the operations. Perform quality control checks using a variety of measurement equipment. Inspect and maintain machinery, tooling and equipment to ensure parts produced conform to specification and minimise production downtime.

The Role:

  • Set and operate CNC grinding machines (Junker & Kellenburger).
  • Be able to set and operate manual grinding machines (cylindrical & surface).
  • Manufacture/modify cams, cranks to support internal/external engine development programs along with any other component that needs a grinding process.
  • Be able to use measuring equipment to ensure component compliance (gauges, CMMs Adcole).
  • Perform basic TPM on all equipment including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Mentor and instruct Juniors & apprentices to perform manufacturing operations when required.
  • Be active with the introduction of new equipment and process changes.
  • Be committed to continuous improvement and suggest improvements regarding methods, processes, and tooling.
  • Fulfil any other reasonable requirement consistent with departmental needs.
