Key Responsibilities

  • Operate valve assembly and injection moulding production lines and maintain assembly cells.
  • Review machine faults, diagnose and rectify issues to ensure continuous production.
  • Repair and refurbish components used on production lines and machines.
  • Perform preventative and routine technical maintenance and cleaning.
  • Be fully trained on automated systems, including laser‑guided vehicles and fully automated palletisers.
  • Carry out quality control checks to ensure products conform to customer specifications.
  • Use challenge checks to test for quality errors or faults.
  • Maintain tools and tool boxes, ensuring all required tools are always available.
  • Keep the production workshop clean and organised.
  • Provide holiday and absence cover as required.
  • Adhere to high standards of health and safety practices and housekeeping measures.
  • Actively seek productivity improvements and share this drive with other shifts.
  • Participate in testing and hands‑on development, including Kaizen improvement system.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in an automated or semi‑automated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of valve, actuator, or injection moulding technologies is advantageous.
  • HSE awareness.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and fault finding.
  • Product awareness and ability to identify issues.
  • Ability to operate automated and semi‑automated production lines.
  • Mechanical or electrical experience is advantageous.
  • Committed team player willing to support colleagues.
  • Experience in a busy production environment.
  • Analytical and computer skills.
  • Ability to read diagrams, technical drawings and manuals.
  • Ability to fault‑find to component level.
  • Understanding of production planning to ensure production flow.
  • Experience with the 5‑whys method.
  • Ability to handle components and pallets up to 10 kg in line with HSE manual‑handling guidelines.
