We are seeking a theory teacher to help us deliver a music theory course via Zoom. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching theory and achieving good results across a range of exam boards including ABRSM, LCME, Trinity, etc. You will need a suitable space to teach the online lessons. Knowledge of Zoom is a must.
You will also need the ability to use Google Calendar in order to manage your availability each week for any additional one‑one lessons – training in our systems will be given at an induction for the chosen candidate. Our website will collect all student details, payment and organise your sessions each week. We will also provide a reporting system to parents, arrange examinations when students are ready and publicise your availability. There will be further opportunities for work as the school continues to grow – including group sessions and summer workshops.
Requirements
- Experience teaching music theory and achieving good results across a range of exam boards including ABRSM, LCME, Trinity, etc.
- You will need a suitable space to deliver this online course via Zoom – all course materials and links will be arranged by us, but you will need to plan the lessons and have a good understanding of Zoom to deliver the course in an engaging and supportive manner.
- You will also need to be able to accept homework digitally and mark it in a timely manner to support the students on the course.
- For any one‑one teaching you will also need the ability to use Google Calendar to manage your availability each week – training in our systems will be given at an induction for the chosen candidate.
- A full DBS will be required, right to work in the UK and the ideal candidate will have teaching qualifications.

The school is going from strength to strength, looking to expand into more primary schools over the coming terms. We have also been awarded Arts Award Centre status, which will allow us to offer day courses in the Discover Award to primary schools and we will also be running a Summer School from 2025, so there will be plenty of opportunities for you to grow with the school and find your own niche within our community.
