About the Role
The Drama Teaching Assistant will support a lead teacher in delivering drama classes (ages 5-7 and 7-11) at the Costello Music School. The role will include supporting students as they work their way through the course - learning to recite prose and verses, exploring different genres of drama through games and working both individually and in groups.
There will be potential to grow your own understanding of our drama classes and progress to teaching classes independently through our CPD and additional courses with Trinity College London and LAMDA.
Requirements
We are seeking a drama teaching assistant to help us deliver Drama classes at the Costello Music School. The ideal candidate will have some experience with teaching, reading and be comfortable working with children aged 5-11 years old.
As an assistant you will support the lead teacher in the delivery of classes with the potential to grow your own understanding of our drama classes and progress to teaching classes independently.
A full DBS will be required, right to work in the UK and the ideal candidate with have teaching qualifications.
You will need to be available on either Wednesdays/Thursdays or both days during Term Time from 3:15pm-4:.15pm at a primary school in Brentwood, Essex. There will be further oppotunities for work as the school continues to grow.

The school is going from strength to strength, looking to expand into more primary schools over the coming terms. We have also been awarded Arts Award Centre status, which will allow us to offer day courses in the Discover Award to primary schools and we also run a Summer School, so there will be plenty of opportunities for you to grow with the school and find your own niche within our community.
