About the Role

Analysts and Medical Writers work on projects involving detailed analysis of data from clinical trials and the assimilation and creative presentation of this analysis in different formats. Deliverables include posters, slide sets, and peer‑reviewed publications, used directly by clients to communicate with stakeholders.

The work is project‑based; you will usually be working on several projects in different disease areas at any one time. You will work in project teams alongside experienced colleagues who provide one‑to‑one training in project management and client communication. After induction you will increasingly participate in teleconferences and face‑to‑face meetings with stakeholders.

Costello Medical is organised into service areas focusing on medical communications and health economics. In this role you will join the Medical Communications service area, working within the Medical Affairs or Publications teams. New team members who work solely on Publications projects will be titled Medical Writer; all others will be called Analysts. Home team allocation will be based on interests, skills and business needs.

Members of the Publications team collaborate closely with clients and leading opinion experts to create materials that clearly share scientific findings with broad audiences. Responsibilities include preparing abstracts, manuscripts, posters, oral presentations for conferences and supporting those events. Additional tasks may include regulatory documents, plain‑language summaries and policy publications. This position suits individuals eager to combine scientific writing with creativity to produce impactful projects for diverse clients.

Medical Affairs serves as a vital link between clinical development and commercial departments within pharmaceutical and device companies. Engagement includes medical education events, advisory boards and medical information resources. Collaboration with expert advisors and event speakers is essential, and supporting events on‑site may offer international travel opportunities. You will further develop scientific, creative and writing skills and gain in‑depth knowledge of specific therapy areas. Presenting complex information to varied audiences will be especially beneficial.

You may also collaborate with teams outside Medical Communications (Health Policy, Rare Diseases or MedTech). If interested, please note your preferred teams on your application form.

  • Engage with different teams within the company to develop a broad understanding of service offerings and clients.

Hybrid Working Policy

We offer flexible working arrangements that allow colleagues who have passed probation to work from home for up to half of their time (measured across a 2‑week rolling period). During probation (normally first 6 months) you may work from home one day per week.
