In recent years, our in-house Technical Operations (TechOps) team has been investing heavily in enhancing company-wide technology infrastructure and building a community of dedicated IT professionals who exceed traditional IT standards. As part of this growth, we are now seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Administrator to deliver first-class systems administration, process optimisation, hardware processing, and skill-sharing, all whilst maintaining the personal touch that our colleagues have come to know and love.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing on-premise and cloud technologies, including file system and permissions management, device and software management via Microsoft Intune, as well as identity and access management across platforms like Microsoft 365.
  • Setting up and issuing hardware such as laptops and peripherals, overseeing equipment lifecycles (e.g., retirement and disposal), and maintaining an accurate asset database.
  • Responding to user requests, discussing solutions, and providing required equipment.
  • Coordinating the delivery of IT services in satellite offices by working closely with non-technical representatives.
  • Supporting with system audits, such as checking access rights and reporting on inactivity.
  • Collaborating with the remote managed service provider (MSP) to provide deskside support.
  • Representing the TechOps team across the company by explaining IT processes, announcing changes, soliciting feedback, and maintaining strong relationships with other teams.
  • Travelling to national and global offices for on-site tasks such as device management, office moves, and infrastructure updates.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and project managers to deliver continuous improvements.
  • Proactively sharing new ideas to improve our IT services and technologies.

Within the role, you may also have opportunities to:

  • Contribute to a variety of internally delivered and outsourced IT projects, such as implementing new systems, software, and hardware.
  • Create and manage knowledge articles, user guides, policies, and training materials.
  • Relocate to other offices and grow our IT presence throughout the business.
  • Develop skills in cybersecurity and information governance.

Hybrid Working Policy: We believe that having face-to-face time in the office holds many benefits and is central to ensuring that the community we have created, where people have a workplace they belong to and feel part of, is never lost. At the same time, we recognise that homeworking can improve work life balance, reduce commuting times and costs, and provide the opportunity to juggle personal commitments. Therefore, we offer flexible working arrangements that allow our colleagues who have passed probation to work from home up to half their time, measured across a 2-week rolling period. During your probationary period (normally the first 6 months of the role), you will be able to work from home 1 day per week.

Office Location: While the preferred permanent location for this role is our Global Headquarters in Cambridge, we also welcome applications from candidates who wish to be based in our London office, subject to successful completion of their probation. Please note that you will be required to work from the Cambridge office throughout your probation, with the exception of 1 permitted work-from-home day, to ensure you receive essential face-to-face training, guidance, and support from experienced members of the TechOps team. Please also note that we are unable to cover travel costs to the Cambridge office during the probationary period. However, following successful completion of your probation, you will be expected to visit the Cambridge office at least once every 2 weeks, for which all travel expenses will be reimbursed by the company.
