About the Role:
Consultant Health Economists at Costello Medical play a crucial role as project managers. You will provide strategic advice to clients from model conceptualisation through to building of the model and interpretation of the results. You will manage a range of projects simultaneously and have full responsibility for client communication on your projects, as well as lead budgeting plans and business development efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Lead on the strategy and direction of health economic projects, with final sign off on all deliverables.
- Lead communications with clients, providing strategic advice and driving business development.
- Manage multiple health economics modelling projects simultaneously.
- Lead budgeting plans and business development efforts.
- Support recruitment, training, line managing Health Economists, reviewing their work, and providing constructive feedback.
- Drive global growth for the Health Economics team by contributing to business development and building long‐term client relationships.
- Identify and pitch to prospective clients, spotting opportunities to expand service offerings.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years industry experience in health economic modelling, ideally within a consulting environment, or alternatively, a pharmaceutical or medical device company.
- Experience working directly with clients from project initiation to completion, providing recommendations on project content and approach.
- Leading multiple projects simultaneously and adapting to changing deadlines, delegating tasks and managing others' time effectively.
- Strong communication with clients, tailoring approach to build sustainable working relationships.
- A degree in a relevant discipline (minimum 2.1 or equivalent), such as mathematics, economics, physics or computer science.
- Advanced modelling skills in Excel and VBA; experience with other software (e.g., R, C++, STATA) desirable.
- Skilled in relationship building, communicating appropriately with different audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex modelling techniques and results to non‐experts.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to respond to changing deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, leading and motivating others to deliver high‐quality outcomes.
Employment Details:
- Role Type: Full‐time, permanent role.
- Start Dates: Recruitment for start dates throughout 2026, including January, February and March; please state your availability on the application form.
- Location: London, Manchester and Bristol offices.
