About the Role:
Our Epidemiologist Internship is ideal for current students and recent graduates with a keen interest in epidemiology, biostatistics and public health, who are eager to gain valuable insights into life at a leading healthcare consultancy. You will gain practical experience by contributing to two or three projects during the internship, each of which involve the interpretation, assimilation, and analyses of real–world studies or public health data. Specific tasks may include:
- Developing protocols and statistical analysis plans (SAPs)
- Conducting analysis of data from patient registries and electronic health record (EHR) databases
- Supporting primary data generation activities such as prospective cohort studies or patient/clinician surveys
These meaningful and exciting projects contribute to improving healthcare outcomes globally. Interns will receive one‑to‑one training on the technical aspects of the role and learn about project management and effective communication with clients.
Epidemiologist Interns will work on projects that span our Real‑World Evidence (RWE) and our Literature Reviews teams, giving you broad exposure to our Evidence Development service offering. You will also work in project teams alongside colleagues from all service offerings, as many projects are interdisciplinary in scope. This role will likely be a 3 month internship with a potential to extend to 6 months.

When this happens, it allows our interns to further develop their skills and potentially gain experience of other areas of the company (again, dependent on business needed as well as the individual’s interests). Additionally, there is the opportunity for high‑performing interns to apply for the Epidemiologist role and join our expanding team on a permanent basis.
Essential requirements for the role are:
- An undergraduate degree level qualification in a relevant discipline (minimum 2.1 or expected 2.1). Postgraduate qualifications (minimum 2.1 or equivalent) would be an advantage, but they are not a requirement for the role.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
- A good understanding of the R programming language used for the analysis of large datasets, and the willingness and ability to rapidly develop your programming skills
- A good understanding of epidemiological techniques and data analysis methods
- Excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to communicate scientific material clearly in both written and oral form for a variety of audiences
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan your own work effectively, with a proactive approach to task prioritisation and time management

- Strong self‑motivation, self‑awareness and willingness to learn, with a desire to contribute to the company above and beyond project work
- Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A genuine interest in healthcare and an eagerness to learn about new areas of science
