The Optical Manager will be responsible for overseeing and directing operations for the Optical department and other areas of the warehouse.
The duties will include:
- Scheduling, developing, counseling, training and directing department personnel.
- Making recommendations for hiring, promotion and termination to Warehouse Manager.
- Reviewing department budget, financial statements and insurance payment records.
- Developing and implementing plans for merchandising, productivity and profitability.
- Observing employee performance and paperwork to ensure that department procedures and standards are followed.
- Implementing and upholding safety and security procedures.
- Approving and submits orders for equipment, product and supplies.
- Coordinating proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment.
- Oversees apprentices as required for certification qualification.
- Overseeing and participating in duties of Licensed Dispensing Opticians.
- Fitting and adjusting eyeglasses, dispensing contacts.
- Assisting with front end duties and other departments of the warehouse where necessary.
- Providing and ensuring prompt and courteous member service.
This is a full time management/leadership position (45+ hours per week).
