Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service while assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in our café. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Serve customers with a friendly and attentive approach, providing information about menu items and daily specials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment.
- Support catering events by preparing food items and assisting with setup and service as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently when required.
- Assist in training new staff members in café procedures and best practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in a café or restaurant environment is preferred, showcasing your ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience as a barista is advantageous, along with knowledge of coffee preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with catering services is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and practices is required.
