STR, the global leader in hospitality data benchmarking, analytics and marketplace insights, trusts the Data Operations Associate to support data loading, data checking, and report delivery for our benchmarking product. The role reports to the Manager, Data Operations and involves client‑related administrative tasks, automating data feeds, and facilitating data exchange between STR and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Load performance data from corporate submissions, automated data feeds, and manual data files.
  • Perform data quality checks and research to accept or reject data.
  • Contact data providers to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with properties, clients, and industry professionals regarding STR/CoStar’s policies and guidelines.
  • Notify the research department of any census‑related issues.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly processing procedures.
  • Respond to clients via email in an effective and timely manner.
  • Assist teams in running pre‑processing checks on weekly and monthly data.
  • Generate, check, and send selected reports to corporate clients and individual properties.
  • Act as an internal point of contact for data‑related queries.
  • Manage workflow requests and work with clients to set up data delivery.
  • Stay knowledgeable of industry trends that may affect the data.
  • Help clients automate their data submission to STR from various technology vendors.
  • Identify new opportunities for automated data transfer to STR with new technology vendors.
  • Adhere to STR’s and CoStar’s standards and guidelines for data confidentiality.
  • Maintain and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables to clients with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Notify the team and business of issues impacting delivery timelines.
  • Partner with internal teams (e.g., IT, Global Data Operations) to resolve delivery issues efficiently.
  • Adjust and update report setups per client requests.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (ideally in hospitality, data, business management or finance) or equivalent experience.
  • Creative, innovative, and analytical data skills.
  • Strong confidence in using and manipulating quantitative performance data.
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets and work with disparate data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experienced in handling urgent requests while maintaining turnaround times for other projects.
  • Desirable: knowledge of hospitality technology (PMS, RMS, BI tools), financial literacy and familiarity with P&L statements.
  • Experience with API integrations and SFTP data transfers highly desirable.
