Job Description

CMDP+ is looking to strengthen their Leadership team with a Project Manager for our Southern Water Framework. MWH Treatment and Costain Group are part of the CMDP+ joint venture that will deliver a range of construction schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water\’s water supply and wastewater treatment works within the South and Southeast regions.
The Joint Venture has been set up specifically to execute the 5-year (2025 – 2030) AMP8 capital delivery framework. We will be delivering a programme of works up to £1bn over the 5-year period consisting of both heavy civil engineering and mechanical and electrical activities.
Otterbourne is a major Water Supply Works located between Southampton and Winchester supplying water to the surrounding area of over 250,000 homes. As part of Southern Water\’s AMP8 investment programme the Works will be undergoing major upgrades including new pre-disinfection treatment and wastewater recovery treatment streams, plus a programme of works to mitigate risks with power resilience. Design efforts in evaluating process solution options are already underway to inform design development and a construction to programme that will run to 2030 to deliver the project\’s DWI Regulatory outputs.

Responsibilities
- Manage, supervise, train and mentor the site team to enable them to optimise their work contribution.
- Review contractual agreements and develop working methods, programme and forecast costs with the Client, Contracts Manager and Specialist / Suppliers identifying any inaccuracies or inconsistencies.
- Develop programmes and forecast budgets, assess actual programme and productivity achieved and review weekly, taking action where appropriate, and reporting any changes to the Contracts Manager and Commercial department.
- Be fully conversant with specialists\’ contract conditions.
- Positively manage the programme to ensure the appropriate specialists provide the level of resources with the necessary skills so as not to impede the construction programme.
- Communicate with the site team and the commercial team\’s issues of non-conformances and contractual correspondence. Ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.
- Ensure that inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works are reviewed, approved and adhered to.

Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering allied subject or HND in Mechanical, Electrical or MEICA and vocational training in Engineering
- Understanding of Engineering Principles
- Knowledge and understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training.
- Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system, Primavera software).
- Relevant CSCS Card
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
- Current Driving Licence
- Water industry experience
Desirable (the ideal)

About the Team
Costain are working with Thames Water on a variety of water and wastewater projects and have fantastic opportunities for individuals to join our growing AMP7 delivery team, working predominantly across the Thames Valley and Thames South regions. There is a mix of projects ranging from smaller capital maintenance to large civil new build schemes.
