CMDP+ is looking to strengthen their Senior Leadership team with a Project Director for our Southern Water Framework. MWH Treatment and Costain Group are part of the CMDP+ joint venture that will deliver a range of construction schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water's water supply and wastewater treatment works within the South and Southeast regions. The Joint Venture has been set up specifically to execute the 5-year (2025 - 2030) AMP8 capital delivery framework. We will be delivering a programme of works up to £1bn over the 5-year period consisting of both heavy civil engineering and mechanical and electrical activities.
Responsibilities- Promote and actively demonstrate collaborative behaviours within the CMDP team and across the Southern Water framework.
- Develop and maintain a high-performance culture across the CMDP team, delivering efficiencies and continuous improvement.
- Establish and grow excellent relationships with Southern Water client teams.
- Actively champion wellbeing, safety and environment performance, and compliance throughout your team to create a safety culture to ensure Zero LTI and RIDDOR Incidents.
- Provide whole life oversight and accountability for the successful delivery of projects, through design, procurement, assembly, commissioning, and handover.
- Communicate extensively across all stakeholders within Southern Water, and internally within Costain to leverage the maximum potential of Costain on the framework.
- Ensure compliance with Southern Water and Costain governance requirements.
- Deliver commercial and financial performance in line with budget expectations.
- Experienced in the leadership of complex projects and/or programmes in a collaborative delivery environment (preferably in the water sector).
- Ability to positively engage and build strong stakeholder and partner relationships to achieve mutual success.
- Significant amount of contract delivery experience where you have successfully managed a framework of multiple projects of a complex or critical nature.
- An engaging leader of people with extensive line management and development of people.
- Excellent knowledge, and experience of CDM and Construction & Engineering Management.
- Excellent knowledge of contractual forms used for collaborative project delivery.
- Solutions focussed with ability lead teams in problem-solving.
- Solid commercial, financial and analytical skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to be able to respond rapidly to unexpected events, having the ability to shape our response appropriately.
- HNC/HND or degree in a relevant construction/engineering discipline.
- NEC PM accreditation (preferred).
- Association of Project Management APMP (preferred).
- Senior Leaders Safety training.
