Overview

As a MEICA Project Engineer, you will support United Utilities AMP8/AMP9 projects from outline design through commissioning. You will work across office, site, and remote settings in Windermere, contributing to safe, compliant MEICA delivery and robust project sequences. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive right‑first‑time design and delivery, addressing technical challenges and coordinating with stakeholders. This role offers hands‑on impact across large-scale water infrastructure programs and ongoing process improvement. You will help shape safe, efficient execution and successful handovers within a high‑performing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote health, safety and wellbeing across design and delivery
  • Manage MEICA packages and coordination for design and installation
  • Support HAZOP/HAZCON and project meetings as needed
  • Collaborate to build a realistic construction, programme and budget sequence
  • Develop MEICA aspects interfaces with wider delivery
  • Coordinate pre-construction, delivery and teams to craft safe, compliant solutions
  • Champion high quality delivery from design outset and drive right-first-time culture
  • Foster good relations with site teams, supply chain and stakeholders
  • Provide timely project performance reports and ensure contract requirements are met
  • Develop improvement plans and mitigations as required
  • Ensure permits, records and checks are completed through installation
  • Collaborate with framework team to drive continuous improvement

Key requirements

  • Experience delivering MEICA packages across project lifecycle in collaborative environments
  • Strong stakeholder relationship and influence skills
  • Knowledge of Construction Design & Management Regulations and related requirements
  • Understanding of relevant engineering technical standards
  • Package management and subcontractor contract awareness
  • Solution‑focused with a drive for continuous improvement
