Overview
In this role you will lead MEICA design, delivery and commissioning for Thames Water projects within Costain’s AMP7/AMP8 framework. You will work across Thames Valley and Thames South on a mix of maintenance and large civil schemes, coordinating with designers, site teams and Thames Water to ensure safe, on-time handover. You’ll drive standardisation, best practice and value delivery while maintaining strong safety and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities
- Lead MEICA design, delivery and commissioning across the project lifecycle
- Coordinate interfaces, outages and risk management with designers, site teams, subcontractors and Thames Water
- Ensure compliance with Thames Water specifications, British Standards and WIMES; review RAMS, QA plans, programmes and manuals
- Manage handover documentation (commissioning manuals, ACD folder, O&M manuals)
- Attend MEICA commissioning meetings and major workshops; generate minutes and actions
- Promote health, safety and environmental best practice and ensure project safety procedures are followed
- Lead, plan and deliver MEICA commissioning and ensure alignment with project programme and budget
- Liaise with stakeholders to coordinate design supply chain interfaces and risk/opportunity registers
- Provide guidance to Costain and Thames Water through inspections, audits and client engagements
- Carry out duties as LV AP(E) or AP(M) where required
Key requirements
- Extensive MEICA design, delivery and commissioning experience on large water/ wastewater plants
- Experience as electrical or mechanical authorised person on complex systems
- Experience with a main contractor on water/wastewater projects
- Knowledge of MEICA process (ECI, de-risking, design review, RAMS, quality plans, ITPS, check sheets, programmes, manuals)
- Proven ability to deliver multiple projects from design to handover
- Strong leadership skills
- HNC in Engineering or apprenticeship with MEICA delivery experience
- CSCS/ECS Card; SMSTS; First aid at work
- Blue Water Hygiene card; Thames Water Passport; EngTech/IEng/CEng preferred
- Full driving licence
