Job Description
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Bid Modeller to provide financial and commercial modelling expertise to support the development of competitive, deliverable and profitable bids for long term maintenance contracts valued in the range of 120m to over 1bn.

The modeller will develop robust financial models that enable informed commercial decision making throughout bid development, mobilisation and into delivery.

The role is required to provide confidence that the proposed operating model is commercially robust, operationally deliverable and capable of achieving target margins while remaining competitive within the tender market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial models that accurately influence proposed operating practices and service delivery solutions.
  • Assess costs, profitability, cash flow and commercial risk across multiple bidding scenarios.
  • Support pricing strategy and target margin development.
  • Provide insight into the financial implications of alternative operating models, scenarios, self-delivery strategies and supply chain approaches.
  • Develop pricing solutions to create robust and highly competitive commercial tenders.
  • Produce clear outputs to support executive decision making and bid governance
  • Scenario and sensitivity analysis including work volume, seasonality, inflation, performance mechanisms and risk allowances
  • Sourcing and analysing market and competitor data for incorporation into the modelling
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
    Essential
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling capability.
  • Develop robust cost, resource and operating models.
  • Analyse profitability, cash flow and commercial performance.
  • Build scenario, sensitivity and risk models to inform bid decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of long-term maintenance contract operating models.
  • Analyse operational, asset and performance data to optimise pricing.
  • Work collaboratively with operational, commercial, finance and bid teams.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience developing winning pricing models in term maintenance, facilities management or other long term contracts

Desirable

  • Financial modelling certification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in financial modelling, commercial management or bidding.

Qualifications
Essential

  • Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent

Desirable

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
