Overview
As a Junior Planning Engineer, you will support the project team in developing and maintaining programmes. You will work closely with stakeholders to capture assumptions, identify dependencies and help ensure robust plans. You’ll contribute to work breakdown and progress monitoring, and assist with resource needs and basic performance reporting. This role offers on-site exposure and growth in planning software, with integration into project controls for aligned financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the project plan using software, collaborating with stakeholders to capture assumptions and dependencies
- Contribute to Work Breakdown structure and progress monitoring strategy
- Identify project resource requirements using planning techniques
- Gather information from project teams for basic performance reporting
- Integrate 3rd party schedules/data into the overall project plan
- Interface with the project controls team to maintain aligned financial position with the plan
- Develop skills in new software, including Primavera (P6)
- This role requires 4 days on site
Key requirements
- GCSEs in Maths
- HNC/HND ideally in a planning discipline or relevant experience
- APM Project Membership
- Strong IT literacy with MS Office
