Expression of Interest - Constructability Engineers -

Our consultancy team is looking for individuals with site delivery experience for positions ranging from Section Engineer, Senior Site Engineer to Agent. We are looking for people to support team growth across multiple sectors including Rail, Water, Roads, Nuclear and Defence. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with Network Rail and/or TfL rail stations experience to join the Constructability Engineering team to suit forecast workload.

We have a range of engineering and construction professionals including managers, engineers, planners and technical specialists fostering genuine partnerships with both clients and the supply chain on frameworks and large infrastructure projects across the UK. Long-term clients include Network Rail, HS2, Northern Powerhouse Rail (NPR), East West Rail (EWR) and Thames Water as well as more recent frameworks with TfL, Yorkshire Water and Anglian Water.

Drawing on experience you will be rewarded by supporting transformative future schemes as part of and with the support of the existing collaborative and inclusive team of civils, stations, railway, earthworks, highways, tunnelling, water, M&E and planning advisors. Our consultancy team is involved at early design stages to help the client and design teams understand the engineering and construction considerations to enable safer and more efficient schemes to be developed that also reduce the impact of infrastructure projects on the environment.

The range of services we currently deliver includes construction sequencing, construction programme development, construction methodologies, logistics requirements, report writing, stakeholder impacts, estimating, environmental impact assessment support and technical input into working winning. Our advice at the early design phase ensures that all engineering and 'buildability' considerations are considered from the outset. This creates a more robust design solution for when subsequent stages of a project are tendered to market, promoting more efficient overall spend whilst reducing risks and disruption.

You will also support business growth more widely on advisory, consultancy, work winning and live complex project delivery schemes. The role will include opportunities for flexible home and office working arrangements, although some attendance to locations such as London, Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds is anticipated.

Responsibilities

As we operate at early design stages, our work is predominantly desk based with only occasional site visits. To suit this style of working we are looking for people with proven communication skills and computer literacy.

• Producing Deliverables: Most of our work is in developing and communicating construction challenges, methodologies, sequences and programmes for which main tools are the Microsoft packages:
• PowerPoint for sketching, sequencing and delivering client presentations
• Word for recording our studies in report format
• Excel for interrogating and manipulating data
• We also regularly produce construction programmes in Primavera P6.
• Client relationship management: Communicating our advice to clients, designers and stakeholders is a key component of this role to justify the land, programme durations and construction costs that will often influence crucial client and stakeholder decisions, business case viability and consenting success.

Qualifications

Essential

• Educational experience in an engineering discipline, ideally degree qualified to a 2:1 or better
• Safety passport or similar
• PowerPoint skills for sketching, sequencing and delivering client presentations
• Highly competent in Excel for interrogating and manipulating data
• Proven communication skills and high computer literacy
• Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance.

Desirable

• Additional technically focused qualifications / training
• Be on track to achieve professional qualifications such as Chartership or Incorporated Status
• Network Rail and/or TfL rail stations experience
