Overview

In this Site Manager role, you will coordinate Cadent project activities in the East of England, leading site delivery through Costain’s team and partners. You will uphold safety, customer service, and regulatory standards while driving on-site performance to meet Cadent’s capital programme goals. You’ll work with cross-functional groups to ensure timely, compliant construction work and stakeholder satisfaction. This is a high-impact role shaping how we deliver essential gas network improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate personnel, local delivery partners (LDPs), customer care officers, supervision and technical support for construction work
  • Lead on-site delivery across replacements, reinforcements, diversions, and reinstatement activities per designer directions
  • Maximise customer experience and uphold Costain's commitments to Cadent
  • Promote high standards of safety and compliance, leading by example
  • Develop work programmes ensuring delivery to cost and time within Cadent standards and regulatory requirements
  • Act as competent person for flow stopping and commissioning operations per Cadent procedures
  • Manage supply chain performance to meet contract objectives
  • Represent Cadent in discussions with local authorities to promote activities
  • Oversee engineering teams to optimise operations and ensure customer service and safety excellence
  • Support Area Manager with continuous improvement initiatives and staff development
  • Carry out standby/call-out duties and other reasonable duties

Key requirements

  • Site management experience
  • Ability to lead a team and drive performance
  • Good communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Current UK driving licence
  • CP status
  • Experience in operations relevant to SCO procedures (beneficial)
  • Temporary Works Supervisor duties (BS5975) or willingness to develop
  • NRSWA Supervisor
  • SHEA Gas
  • Deep Excavation qualification
  • Working at Height
  • UMSTS / SMSTS
  • Defueling & Decommissioning programme experience (beneficial)
  • Gas supervisory experience beneficial but not essential
