Responsibilities
- Accountable for Babcock HSE/ONR and BABCOCK regulations being adhered to.
- All work carried out to Health, Safety and Environmental policies and conform to Babcock HV/LV safety rules.
- Liaise and build strong working relationships with BABCOCK Staff.
- Liaise with and coordinate all works associated to 10 Dock with all stakeholders within the wider Dockyard.
- Attend site Management meetings as required and ensure that information is cascaded to relevant team members.
- Hold regular meetings with Site Supervisors and Subcontract Supervisors.
- Ensure supervisors understand and work to programme.
- Ensure all supervisors are assessed in line with Babcock Way SHE-T-371.
- Ensure that daily time records are kept for work performed.
- Interview and selection of electrical operatives.
- Oversee temporary electrical installations for 10 Dock and associated schemes.
- Plan and review electrical RAMS in conjunction with site policy.
- Carry out the duties as an EL AP.
- Assist Babcock Authorising Engineer with appointments of all HV/LV AP's for both direct and subcontract labour.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with the authorised permits and RAMS.
- Manage 10 Docks periodic test and PAT testing records.
- Set up, implement and manage the electrical plant ID scheme and register.
- Manage electrical plant, material, labour costs using cost reports.
- Review and update the subcontractor's electrical plant list.
- Review, present and record SOS, task, and safety briefings.
- Identify training requirements for individuals and forthcoming works.
- Support site engineers/package managers as required.
- Ensure works carried out as per ITPs.
- Co-ordinate electrical deliveries and collections.
- Ensure materials are used correctly and minimise waste.
- Carry out and record safety briefings.
- Carry out weekly PUWER checks on all Babcock electrical plant and installations.
- Ensure health, safety and environmental regulations are adhered to.
- Monitor and control SHE performance on site in accordance with the Babcock policies, CPP and Babcock Procedures and Guidance Manual.
- Ensure Electrical regulations are adhered to.
- Monitor and control Electrical performance.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds Electricians Certificate or equivalent.
- Current ECS Card.
- Extensive industry experience.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- Hold valid CSCS (JIB) card.
Technical Experience
- Nuclear experience and be conversant with all associated electrical plant.
- Must be able to carry out and record safety briefings.
Personal Specification
- Must have good supervisory and management skills.
- Must demonstrate their ability to lead by example to create outstanding performance in the areas of safety, health, environment, and quality.
- Must demonstrate their ability and performance to deliver right first time.
- Demonstrate an understanding of commercial awareness.
- The successful applicant will be able to manage their own time and coordinate several different subcontractors and locations.
- They will also have the flexibility to assist in supervision and planning of numerous schemes on site concurrently.
- The applicant must demonstrate good organisational skills.
- The applicant must have professional oral, written communication, and basic computer skills as they will be regularly liaising with the client.
- The applicant should be keen to share their experience and knowledge with the less experienced members of the site team.
