Overview of Role
Lead the Costain Mechanical and PPE (Process, Plant and Equipment) Commissioning Team and the commissioning works of the Supply Chain. Provide due Governance and management to meet the Nuclear Licence Conditions, Quality Management System and Project Delivery processes and procedures. Management of project commissioning activities to meet the quality, cost, resource, programme and acceptance criteria.
Responsibilities:
- Develop working relationships with all commissioning stakeholders including the Client Commissioning Manager, Client Operators and Maintainers, Supply Chain Specialists, Engineering team, Assurance Team, Requirements, Human Factors, Quality, Construction, Completion and Handover teams.
- Understand Client User Requirements.
- Understand Safety Commissioning Schedule.
- Participate in the design process (e.g. Hazard and Operability Studies, design assessment etc.), to assist design teams in producing safe and operable designs.
- Ensure that testing and commissioning is planned and carried out safely and be responsible for health and safety at work of all those working under their control.
- Assist with the development of the detailed construction schedule to ensure a phased release of works to support the commissioning activities.
- Liaise between the Site Construction team and the Client on all matters related to commissioning.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the Supply Chain and their Vendors that provide Commissioning Services to the Project.
- Ensure test and quality documentation produced by Vendors are adequate to deliver fully tested systems with evidence of System and Safety requirements.
- Ensure that Supply Chain contractors tests are executed in accordance with Project procedures.
- Supervise the safe pre-commissioning / commissioning of the plant in accordance with the project requirements.
- Feedback technical data obtained during commissioning to Engineering departments, to ensure continuing improvements in design.
- Project Commissioning reporting. Status and Metrics.
- Ensure the correct procedures are followed for all commissioning works to comply with the Nuclear License Conditions and the Clients Commissioning Operating Procedures.
- Champion efficient & safe processes to facilitate as early as possible completion of Construction and handover to Commissioning through the Completion database with clear, defined boundaries.
Qualifications Skills / Qualifications:
- 10 Years experience commissioning mechanical systems.
- Degree qualified or demonstrable experience to the equivalent.
- Nuclear experience desirable.
