Costain have won extensive work across the water sector to support the AMP 8 investment cycle. Anglian Water has a principal commitment to delivering safe, clean drinking water to all in the Anglian region. To uphold this commitment, it has an ongoing programme of capital investment to maintain and improve its water storage assets. As part of a structured process, the requirement includes draining down and inspecting these storage point assets so that a scope of work can be established, followed by the completion of the required work and then bringing the assets back online. This is a very large programme of work with assets in locations across the whole of the AW region. Key locations: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincolnshire.
Responsibilities
- The Site Agent will work across the water storage points project lifecycle and lead on design and delivery, engaging with site operational teams and supply chain partners (on one or multiple sites).
- You will develop our construction strategy and programmes, ensuring we are setting up and delivering safely, to quality, time and budget.
- Line management and development of site teams.
- Ensure production and implementation of project plans, RAMs, ITPs and waste management.
- Be responsible for robust and comprehensive site records (diaries, allocation sheets etc).
- Ensure supply chain remain compliant with the framework management plan.
- Create a safety culture to strive towards Zero LTI and RIDDOR Incidents.
- Maintain a commercial focus with a high level of challenge on project scope and choosing efficient delivery strategies.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure sites have suitably competent and skilled resources required to complete tasks.
- Ensure delivery teams are engaged at operational level and supportive of the projects and services and their potential impacts.
- Ensure consistent and reliable reporting of project SHE metrics, progress, cost, change etc.
- Ensure key project risks are identified early, and mitigated where possible.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Previous experience of working on water projects.
- Experience working with MEICA interfaces and/or in a water environment would be beneficial.
- A team player who can develop working relationships and demonstrate collaborative behaviours.
- Experience of managing and delivering projects (or packages of work within small-medium-large projects) safely to quality, time and budget.
- Practical experience and familiarity of delivery to NEC forms of contract.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, within your team and across the operational sites, client team, our Framework team (including design and supply chain partners) & Costain group.
- Computer competence (standard Microsoft tools, document control system, Primavera software).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND or degree in a relevant civil engineering discipline.
- SMSTS qualification.
- Relevant CSCS card.
