Due to continued project growth we are looking for a Package Manager for the Mechanical and Piping packages on a landmark Energy project in Teesside. Costain are procuring, managing and administering the Facilities Contracts for and on behalf of bp. This project management role is to be the package manager for the NEP “CO2” Mechanical and Pipeline Facilities Contract. The package manager works closely with the construction and commercial team to ensure that the Facilities Contractors deliver their scopes of work within budget and on schedule.
The scope includes:
- NEP-CPL-1 – 22” above ground pipeline from AGI C1 through Tunnel No 2 and South of the River to AGI-C3 at the new power station.
- Existing Pipebridge strengthening
- AGI and pipeline support steelwork
- Steelwork supports in the Tunnel No 2 headhouses and Tunnel

Responsibilities
- Appointed package manager and the main point of contact for the relevant Facilities contractor.
- Oversee the Facilities contracts, monitor performance and support and enable successful delivery.
- Oversight of the administration of the relevant Facilities Contract, working closely with the commercial, planning and project controls team.
- Chair the monthly progress meeting and ensure the Facilities Contractors produce the required daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Work closely with the Construction management team to ensure the package is safely delivered on time and co-ordinated with other Facilities Contracts.
- Work closely with the HSE and quality team to ensure contract requirements are met.
- Management of change to scope.
Qualifications
- Has fulfilled the role of Project manager.
- Sub-contract administration.
- Understanding of Engineering and Construction Principles and techniques and best practice.
- Proven team-working skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Builds positive relationships with supply chain.
- Management of change, technical, cost and schedule.
- Managing Risk.
- Strong communication skills.
- Practical approach, logical thought process and a methodical way of working.
Desirable
- Experience of managing or delivering mechanical and pipeline projects.
- Experience of working on contracts across the Teesside industrial complex including Wilton and North Tees.
- Experience of pipeline projects within brownfield and live operating site environments including on Teesside.
- Working knowledge and application of CDM 2015.
