United Utilities have awarded Costain a new Managed Service Provider (MSP) framework contract. Under the contract, Costain provides the overall management and delivery of United Utilities’ larger-scale water and wastewater asset maintenance activities across the entirety of its network, including 96 water treatment and 575 wastewater treatment sites, which serves over six million people in the North West of England. The role will be for a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. It will be hybrid and required to attend the Manchester office 2 days per week.

Responsibilities- Support the contract teams in managing the financial performance of the contract, and accurately reporting and forecasting the results of the contract.
- Contract Accounting - integrity of costs, revenue ledgers and transaction processing.
- WIP reconciliations and associated actions to drive cash flow improvement.
- Balance sheet review of other items and associated actions.
- Maintenance of sound financial processes and controls, in line with Group guidelines, ensuring that all applicable requirements can be met.
- Input into project budgeting/forecasting, covering all aspects of forecasting, including revenue/profit, cash etc.
- Finance point of contact for internal, external and client audits.
- Lead and manage the finance team supporting the development of the team, performance management, succession planning etc.
- Control, forecast and accurately report the Fee Based Cost position on each scheme.
- Drive improvements to improve process and reporting.
- Experience working in a Construction business.
- Experience in accounting for long term contracts and staff cost modelling.
- Strong business partner able to communicate effectively with senior management.
- Excellent excel and financial modelling skills.
- Degree qualified.
- Newly Qualified Accountant with recognised professional body.
