CMDP+ is looking to strengthen their Design teams on our Southern Water Framework. MWH Treatment and Costain Group are part of the CMDP+ joint venture that will deliver a range of construction schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water's water supply and wastewater treatment works within the South and Southeast regions. We are looking for Design Engineers (all levels) with Water or Wastewater experience and one or more of the following: civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) background.
Responsibilities
- Production and checking of tendering and design deliverables, aligned with your technical discipline, to meet project needs and client requirements.
- Coordinating project work activities between team members – such as interdisciplinary reviews.
- Engaging / leading technical reviews, meetings and presentations to support scope delivery, closing out of technical actions.
- Completion of work packages to cost, time and quality needs, managing change and other resources / people as required to achieve this.
- Support to others in the project team and wider Costain to ensure project and corporate outcomes are achieved, in particular Costain sustainability targets.
- Support project reporting data such as KPIs / carbon etc.
- Collaborate and ensure learning is shared, proactively challenge / celebrate safety performance.
- Collaborate with suppliers, other designers, construction team and similar to produce a robust and safe design output.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Have design engineering experience within (Mechanical, Civils, Electrical or ICA).
- Be able to manage resources as required.
- Be able to accurately report progress / risk / opportunities / change etc.
- Be able to lead design meetings, deliver presentations and groups.
- Understand sustainable design essentials.
- Able to work accurately and deliver to promise, predict and report potential challenges to delivery.
- Actively learn and share best practice into the discipline team.
- Able to support estimate development – scoping / hours / risks / assumptions.
- Have working knowledge of UK Regulatory framework associated with technical discipline, ie CDM, Electrical, Environmental, Process etc.
Qualifications
- Progressing towards a Chartered professional review with relevant chartered body such as ICE, CIWEM.
- Degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline (e.g. civil, electrical, mechanical, ICA).
- Driving licence.

CMDP is a joint venture between Costain and MWHT and delivers a range of schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water's water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half of its region (Kent & Sussex).
