CMDP+ is looking to strengthen their team with an Electrical Project Engineer for the Southern Water Framework. The Joint Venture, consisting of MWH Treatment and Costain Group, delivers a range of construction schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works within the South and Southeast regions. The initiative will execute a 5‑year (2025 – 2030) AMP8 capital delivery framework with a programme up to £1 bn, encompassing heavy civil engineering and mechanical and electrical activities.

Responsibilities

  • Management and review of design outputs and tender packs
  • Produce and update procurement schedule and plan
  • Attend design and progress meetings
  • Assist the QS in defining the required scope of works
  • Procure MEICA process plant
  • Undertake technical and commercial bid analysis
  • Programming and scheduling
  • Review inspection and test plans
  • Off‑site management of manufacturing phase of process plant orders
  • Hold regular progress meetings and obtain manufacturing progress reports
  • Support the construction team and attend site as necessary
  • Control site electrical and mechanical installation activities
  • Assist in planning
  • Produce or review risk assessment and method statements
  • Accept or issue instructions
  • Site reporting and record keeping
  • Ensure that site installation programme is adhered to or improved
  • Maintain good working relationships with client, sub‑contractors, and partners
  • Ensure completion and take‑over of sub‑contracts

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • CSCS card or equivalent plus EUSR card
  • Full driving licence
  • Experience in water or wastewater plant design, construction and procurement

CMDP is a joint venture between Costain and MWHT, delivering a range of schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half of the region (Kent & Sussex).
