The Change Co-ordinator is responsible for establishing, analysing, and coordinating project trends and change management processes. This role serves as the primary interface with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess impacts, and develop initial change proposals related to scope, cost, and schedule. The Co‑ordinator translates stakeholder needs into structured change requests and trend analyses, providing the foundation for informed decision‑making. This role includes light supervisory responsibility for the Trends Expeditor to ensure seamless coordination between change initiative and execution. This role requires a minimum of 3 days on site in Teesside.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with project stakeholders, contractors, and team members to identify potential changes to scope, cost, or schedule.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings to gather detailed requirements and understand the full scope of proposed changes.
  • Develop comprehensive change request documentation including detailed descriptions, justifications, and supporting information.
  • Conduct initial impact assessments to determine order of magnitude estimates for cost, schedule, and resource implications.
  • Analyse change requests against project baselines, specifications, and contractual requirements to ensure alignment and feasibility.
  • Prepare order of magnitude cost estimates for proposed changes using historical data, unit rates, and stakeholder input.
  • Assess schedule impacts of proposed changes, identifying critical path implications and duration adjustments.
  • Coordinate with estimating teams, quantity surveyors, and planners to validate cost and schedule assessments.
  • Develop preliminary cost‑benefit analyses to support management decision‑making on change proposals.
  • Maintain pricing databases and historical cost information to improve accuracy of future estimates.
  • Monitor and analyse recurring patterns in project changes, variations, and performance metrics.
  • Identify emerging trends that may impact project outcomes, including scope creep, cost escalation, or schedule compression.
  • Develop trend forecasts and projections based on current data and historical project performance.
  • Prepare comprehensive trend analysis reports highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Present trend findings and change recommendations to project management and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding change requests and trend inquiries.
  • Facilitate change review meetings and coordinate input from multiple disciplines and departments.
  • Translate technical information into clear, actionable summaries for management and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain transparent communication regarding change status, approval progress, and impact assessments.
  • Build consensus among stakeholders on change priorities and implementation approaches.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive change management registers and trend tracking systems.
  • Ensure all change requests are properly logged with complete documentation and supporting evidence.
  • Develop standardized templates and procedures for change request submission and processing.
  • Verify that all required information is gathered before advancing change requests for approval.
  • Archive change documentation and maintain audit trails for compliance and reference purposes.
  • Provide guidance and work direction to the Trends Expeditor on priorities and follow‑up activities.
  • Review expeditor's tracking logs and status reports to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the expeditor to ensure seamless handoff of approved changes for implementation tracking.
  • Support the expeditor in resolving escalated issues or obstacles hindering document and deliverable submission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project controls, change management, cost estimation, or project coordination within construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience developing change requests, conducting impact assessments, and preparing cost/schedule estimates.
  • Strong background in analysing project performance data and identifying trends.
  • Experience interfacing with diverse stakeholders and facilitating requirements gathering.
  • Advanced ability to analyse complex project data, identify patterns, and develop accurate forecasts and estimates.
  • Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, scheduling techniques, and project baseline management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to elicit requirements, build relationships, and influence without authority.
  • Proficient in preparing clear, comprehensive change proposals and impact assessment reports.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities to present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of contractual obligations, commercial risks, and financial implications of project changes.
  • Ability to identify issues early, assess alternatives, and develop practical solutions.
  • Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis, project management software (MS Project, Primavera), cost estimating tools, and document management systems.
  • Meticulous approach to gathering requirements and preparing accurate change documentation.
  • Capability to lead meetings, drive discussions toward resolution, and coordinate input from multiple parties.
