Due to continued growth, we have an exciting and challenging role for Principal Structural Engineer in our growing team of 150+ Civil mentor graduates and less experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Challenge and deliver value engineering solutions and present confidently in front of clients.
- Ensure compliance with national and international codes of practice, legislation, and company/client standards and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of current relevant codes and standards.
- Implement company and client project policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure interfaces are clearly defined and correctly designed.
- Communicate appropriately with other departments, project personnel, vendors and clients.
- Produce and develop highway specifications and optioneering assessments.
- Define client requirements, design new buildings and structures, assess existing structures, and check and approve.
Experience:
- C sector experience in aviation and rail preferable.
- Extensive knowledge of UK legislation and standards.
- Awareness of risk identification, quantification, management and HSE requirements.
- Experience in building design and checking.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of project controls, including schedule, cost, risk and change management.
Attributes:
- Collaborative, innovative and agile.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an effective communicator (written).
