Costain is the Major Programme Partner (MPP) and the Asset Renewal Partner (ARP) for Terminals 1 and 2, two of six major programmes of work that Heathrow has committed to deliver within the H7 quinquennium. Within the MPP framework, Costain is the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer for the T2 Baggage Programme (T2BP), which is a £700m+ complex baggage and infrastructure programme.
This role will work within the aviation sector and you will be required to obtain an airside pass. To satisfy the requirements, you will need to provide 5 years references and complete a criminal reference check.
The Graduate Development Programme will focus on helping you to grow your personal and leadership skills, alongside business and technical skills you will learn day-to-day on the job. The programme is delivered in a variety of formats throughout the 2 years and will allow you to establish a network of contacts that will help and support you through your first 2 years and beyond. We expect some of our graduates to rotate after a period of 8-12 months, to another project/sector of the business to fully understand the depth and breadth of the services offered by the company. Our line managers are fully supportive of the Graduate Development Programme and will be involved in helping you along the way.
In addition to the programme, we offer mentoring and support in every area of work, as well as a structured training programme to enable graduates to work towards achieving Chartership. Graduates may have the opportunity to work on a number of exciting and progressive projects around the UK during the 2-year period, in sectors including nuclear, highways, rail, water, airports and tunnels.
Responsibilities
- Carry out project accounting at a project site.
- Management accounting, business partnering and reporting with the Divisional Finance Function.
- Financial Control, compliance and external audit exposure.
- Corporate reporting, accounting standards, taxation and financial accounting through Group Finance Function.
- Budgeting and business planning with the FP&A function.
- Fiscal responsibility with the Treasury function.
- Making Finance Digital with the Automated Solutions Team.
In addition to working on these core skills, you will join our Graduate Development Programme, which will guide and support you through your first two years of your challenging new career.

- IT proficient, with an understanding of Microsoft, specifically Excel.
- Ability to assimilate, understand, analyse and present data.
