As a Requirements Manager, you will be responsible for executing to a high standard the requirements management processes ensuring efficient requirements development, accuracy and consistency of resultant scope, and adherence to standards. You will have a strong nuclear background to enable you to act as a bridge between different project stakeholders (such as the project team, internal & external design consultants, and supply chain partners), facilitating communication and collaboration to deliver requirements that are easily understood and assured by Costain and its subcontractors. You will also be involved in the conceptual development of systems on projects and the verification & validation of requirements at all levels. The role is based at Manchester, with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week.
Responsibilities
- Executing requirements management processes.
- Managing configuration and general change management of technical artifacts and documentation within role remit.
- Reporting progress on requirements management activities.
- Other discharged responsibilities of the Chief Systems Engineer.
- Executing processes detailed within the design management and in accordance with the Costain Way.
- Act as lead (and carry out where required) requirements management activities for allocated projects including:
- Elicitation
- Requirements writing
- Change and configuration management (baselining and requirements technical change)
- Decomposition, derivation, traceability
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Working as a systems engineer on large and complex civil nuclear programmes.
- Well versed in leading and executing core systems engineering sub-disciplines including requirements management, configuration control, verification & validation, requirements writing, and requirements change management.
Desirable
- Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or demonstration of working towards professional recognition.
- Experience in nuclear infrastructure projects.
- Experience with DOORS requirements management software.
- INCOSE CEP accreditation (CSEP).
- Writing and maintaining project specific systems engineering related management plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field such as systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or mathematics.
- INCOSE CEP accreditation (ASEP as a minimum) or demonstration of working towards.
