The Construction Lead will be responsible for the safe delivery of the Mechanical and Pipework works to the South of the River, ensuring the works are delivered right first time, on programme and within budget. The role will be based full time on site in Teesside.
The Mechanical and Pipework includes:
- Above ground 22" CO2 pipeline including the section through the existing Tunnel No 2
- Above Ground installation (AGI)
- Above ground and buried 22" Natural Gas pipelines
In summary, leading the planning and delivery of the M&P works. Providing Safety and Quality leadership and management and co‑ordination of the Facilities contractors. Working closely with the M&P Package Manager and respective Construction Leads to resolve performance issues and blockers to progress.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, co‑ordination and delivery of the M&P works either North or South of the River
- Responsible for the work readiness and control of work procedures for the M&P works.
- Working closely with the civil and structures team to ensure areas are handed over ready for M&P works to safely commence as planned
- Monitor site progress and support and enable the Facilities Contractors to successfully deliver
- Ensure compliance with bp requirements and the Costain way.
- Work closely with the Package managers to ensure the civils and structures Facilities Contract packages are safely delivered on time and co‑ordinated with other Facilities Contracts
- Work closely with the HSE and quality team to ensure contract requirements are met
Qualifications:
- Mechanical and pipework experience working as a Project engineer or project manager
- Buried pipeline experience
- Detailed experience of onsite Construction Management and safe delivery, to time, quality and budget
- Detailed knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, Construction Phase Plans, risk assessment and construction hazards
- Experience of pipeline projects within brownfield and live operating site environments
- Experience of sub‑contract management
- Understanding of Engineering and Construction Principles, construction techniques and best practices
- Proven team‑working skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team
- Builds positive relationships with supply chain.
- Strong communication skills
- Practical approach, logical thought process and a methodical way of working
- Experience of managing technical and programme interfaces with adjacent and interdependent projects
- Relevant CSCS Card
