Due to project wins, the position of Community and Stakeholder Relations Manager has become available to join a new team in Lincolnshire. At Costain, our Energy Sector helps our customers transition to clean energy while providing practical solutions to improve the efficiency, sustainability and resilience of existing infrastructure. We focus on delivering engineering, construction and digital solutions to support the UK’s transition to a low‑carbon economy.
The Community and Stakeholder Relations Manager is responsible for managing the relationship between the project and external and internal stakeholders including members of the public and the local community affected by the construction scheme, the client and any additional interested parties. The role is based full time on site in Lincolnshire.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the relationships with key opinion formers, stakeholders and customers, e.g. land owners, tenant farmers, etc.
- Manage all enquiries and complaints relating to construction phase activity in accordance with project and client SLA’s.
- Deliver customer/community/stakeholder performance in accordance with project, business and client targets.
- Facilitate engagement events and activities within the community, including public information exhibitions, stakeholder and customer committees, visits to community groups and interested parties.
- Produce communications material and content including newsletters, social media posts, and project updates.
- Manage volunteering opportunities in line with group targets and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Engagement Delivery: Maintains oversight of longer‑term engagement planning to support delivery.
- Advocacy: Hosts and leads internal Community Relations forums.
- Public Interface: Ensure public facing activities are undertaken in accordance with Costain/client policies and procedures.
- Management of Complaints & Enquiries: Complaints and enquiries consistently closed out on time and without further escalation.
- Written Communication: Writing style consistent with corporate and/or client tone.
- Presentation Skills: Competently presents at internal and external community/industry events.
- Social Value: Can collect and analyse relevant data to assess impact.
- Stakeholder Management: Comprehensively maps local and regional stakeholders, shares intelligence with colleagues and client.
- Negotiation & Facilitation: Confident to articulate point of view with internal/external stakeholders, achieving positive outcomes. Understands individual stakeholder drivers.
- Risk Management: Instigates lessons learned sessions to ensure the Costain proposition is high quality.
- Contractual Compliance: Monitoring and reporting compliance with legislative/contractual SLA’s.
