COSRO Group Limited is a well-established, family‑run construction and property maintenance company specialising in social housing repairs, refurbishment, retrofit, and reactive maintenance works across London and the surrounding areas. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a full‑time office‑based basis.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will assist in the commercial management of social housing maintenance and refurbishment projects, supporting the Quantity Surveying team with valuations, cost control, subcontractor management, and pricing works using NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR).
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with preparation of valuations and final accounts
- Pricing works using NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR)
- Reviewing subcontractor quotations and applications
- Assisting with cost reporting and budget monitoring
- Preparing and analysing variations
- Supporting procurement of materials and subcontractors
- Liaising with operational teams and clients
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and spreadsheets
- Assisting with tender submissions and pricing exercises
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant QS role
- Experience within social housing / reactive maintenance preferred
- Strong understanding of NHF SOR rates
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent numerical and organisational skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Experience with planned maintenance or refurbishment contracts
- Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures
- Full UK driving licence (Optional)
